Assessment Made Simple
We believe assessments should support your learning, not stress you out. That’s why our evaluation process is designed to be straightforward and student-friendly:
- After finishing each online module, you’ll complete an assessment featuring 30 multiple-choice questions.
- You’ll have one hour to complete the test, with questions presented in manageable sets of five.
- Once submitted, you’ll receive your results instantly.
- Pass the test and you’ll get a certificate of completion. If not, you’ll receive a “refer” notice and instructions on how to retake it — no pressure, no deadlines.
Once all module tests are passed, you’ll move on to the final written assignments, designed to assess your deeper understanding. On successful completion, you’ll receive your diploma from an OFQUAL-approved awarding body.
Understanding Our Course Levels
Level 3
Think of Level 3 as the stepping stone equivalent to 2 A-levels. This 120-credit course includes 6 modules and between 6 to 12 written assignments. Completing Level 3 opens doors to start an undergraduate degree or progress directly to a Level 4 course.
Level 4
Level 4 matches the content and depth of the first year of a bachelor’s degree. It consists of 6 to 10 modules and an equal number of assignments, totaling 120 university credits. This level builds a strong foundation in business concepts to prepare you for higher studies.
Level 5
At Level 5, you’re tackling the equivalent of the second year of a bachelor’s degree or an HND diploma. This course offers between 5 to 10 modules with 5 to 7 assignments, awarding another 120 credits on successful completion — moving you closer to your degree.
Level 6
Finish Level 6 and you’ll be ready to step into a postgraduate business program, such as an MBA. This level includes 10 modules and 5 written assignments, focusing on advanced business knowledge and skills needed for leadership roles.
Level 7
Our Level 7 course is a full 120-credit qualification designed for those aiming to top up to an MBA. You can complete it online or on campus at a UK or international university. This level features 30 modules and 8 written assignments, giving you the flexibility and depth to advance your career.
Entry Requirements: Find the Right Level for You
Level 3 University Entry Programme
If you’re 16 or older and eager to get started, Level 3 is a great choice. Typically, learners entering this level will have recently completed one of the following:
- At least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above
- Related Level 2 qualifications
- Equivalent international certifications
You’ll also need a good grasp of English to comfortably access course materials and complete your assignments. For mature learners, a diverse background including relevant work experience—paid or unpaid—or other qualifications will be taken into account.
Undergraduate Level 4 & 5 Programmes
To join a Level 4 programme, you should be at least 18 years old and have completed your full secondary education. Level 4 is equivalent to the first year of university or an HNC, while Level 5 corresponds to the second year of a degree. Progression to Level 5 requires successful completion of Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
If English isn’t your first language, you may need to provide proof of your English proficiency via IELTS, TOEFL, or a similar test. Keep in mind that specific university requirements may vary, so it’s a good idea to check with your chosen university before enrolling. Most universities accept the 240 credits awarded by Online Business School at Levels 4 and 5 toward final year degree completion.
Graduate Level 6 Programme
For Level 6, you’ll typically be 21 or older with at least 3 years of relevant experience. You’ll need to have completed Level 4 and 5 (or equivalent to the first two years of a degree). In some cases, learners with extensive practical experience but no formal qualifications might be considered.
Postgraduate Level 7 Programme
Level 7 is designed for those aged 21 and above with a minimum of 3 years of management experience. Entry requires either a Level 6 qualification or a first degree. Similar to Level 6, candidates with significant managerial experience but without formal academic credentials may also be eligible.

Application
Yes, if English isn’t your first language or you’re not from an English-speaking country, we recommend working towards an IELTS score of 6.0 or above. You can even study English alongside your main course. Some partner universities may have slightly different English requirements, so it’s worth checking what your top-up university expects before applying.
To join a Level 4 or 5 programme, you’ll need to have completed a full secondary education. If you’re applying for Level 7 and don’t have a BA degree, at least five years of managerial experience is usually required. English language skills at IELTS Level 6 (or equivalent) will also be expected by the time you finish your course. Each application is reviewed individually, and in some cases, exceptions can be made based on your unique profile.

Absolutely! Every student gets the chance to book a 30-minute one-on-one ‘assignment prep’ session with an experienced tutor. These sessions, conducted over Zoom, cover everything from structure to key academic writing tips — helping you feel confident from the very start.

Depending on your course level, you’ll typically be expected to write between 2,000 to 8,000 words per assignment. Don’t worry if you go a little over – as long as your content stays relevant, there’s no penalty for writing more.
As soon as you enrol, your assignments become available so you can start working on them right away!
Once you submit your assignment, our marking team aims to return your results within 14 working days. After that, your work goes through an internal review and then to the awarding body for final verification — this stage can take up to 30 working days. So from the last assignment submission to final results, expect the full process to take anywhere from 1 to 3 months.

Progression Pathways
Absolutely! Our programmes are designed to align with the UK’s official higher education framework, making it easier for you to transition into university degree pathways. Once you complete the Level 4/5 programme, you’ll earn 240 university credits—equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. You can then progress directly into the final year at a university that recognizes your qualification.
For postgraduate learners, completing the Level 7 course earns you 120 credits out of the 180 needed for an MBA—you can then top up the remaining credits at one of our partner universities, either online or on campus.
Once you’ve completed your final year at university, you’ll hold a recognized undergraduate or postgraduate degree, depending on your level. This qualification can significantly boost your career prospects in areas like business, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and more!
